Guest Performers
James Akers studied lute, guitar and theorbo at the Royal College of Music and Trinity College of Music. He has performed widely with many leading ensembles and soloists including, I Fagiolini, the Scottish, English and Irish Chamber Orchestras, The Dunedin Consort, English National Opera, Welsh National Opera, Innsbruck Festival Opera, Alison Balsom and Damon Albarn. James is a lecturer at The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

Harry Buckoke came to the viola da gamba somewhat diagonally, first studying English Literature at the University of Cambridge then Aesthetics at New York University before having lessons with Paolo Pandolfo at the Schola Cantorum in Basel. He is a PhD candidate at the Orpheus Institute in Ghent working on accompanimental practices on the viola da gamba with a focus on intabulation and bass line realisation. Harry is a member of Apollo’s Cabinet, Lux Musicae London, and Dramma Per Musica.

David Gould was a choral scholar at St John’s College, Cambridge and was a member of Westminster Cathedral choir from 1993 until 1998. He is an experienced consort and choral singer appearing regularly with many leading choirs and ensembles, including the Cardinall's Musick, the King’s Consort and the Tallis Scholars.
He is a regular member of the Cardinall’s Musick and appears on almost all of their CD releases, including their series of the complete Latin choral works of William Byrd. |
Emily Ashton studied music at Clare College, Cambridge and baroque cello and viola da gamba with Jonathan Manson at the Royal Academy of Music. Since then she has performed with many period instrument groups, including the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, Academy of Ancient Music, Orchestra of the Sixteen, Gabrieli Consort and Dunedin Consort, and is a member of Fretwork.
